Living on island can present challenges such as limited resources, isolation from basic needs, and vulnerability to natural disasters.
Many of the challenges can be solved by money. And when financial institutions that provide financial monentary transactions are not available, life becomes more bitter than expected.
Likoma islanders have been in such situation, afflicted and suffering with pain for many years. Thanks to FDH bank for opening a branch on the island. “Now the painful on the eyes is gone for the people have applauded to the echo,” said Shadreck Manda, a resident.
Manda said Likoma islanders mainly the business community will be able to place and borrow money and take care of financial affairs within the island. “We have a break from the hustle and bustle of visiting the mainland for the same.”
Noel Mkulichi, FDH managing director said the opening of the branch on the island is a promotion of customer focus strategy.
The equipment and all essential accessories for the branch were carried to the island by cargo ship, Chilembwe.
FDH bank, a well-known brand in the banking sector, is one of the commercial banks licensed by the Reserve Bank Malawi. It has many branches across the country where many customers place and borrow money and take care of financial affairs.
