15th January is a day Malawi as a nation remembers John Chilembwe who was into an armed rebellion to secure equal rights, social and economic opportunities for the people of Malawi from the colonial rule oppression.
As usual, state president Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera attended this year’s ceremony at Providence Industrial Mission in Chiradzulu on Monday. Chakwera described John Chilembwe as great man.
John Chilembwe was a generation thinker. He lived many decades of years ahead of his time and even to many. He had a great mission for the people of Malawi and a great vision for the nation.
He performed his duties with outstanding and unforgettable dedication. He exhibited the rare mix of wisdom, humility, determination, sense of fair play, destiny, and good will towards to all people.
May the nation see his significance to its history and to the people as a great brand in politics. May the soul of the great brand in politics and humanity rest in peace forever.
