Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal judge, Jusiice Lovemore Chikopa, is now the first Deputy Chief Justice in Malawi. The position was created after Parliament passed the Constitution Amendment Bill few years ago.
Justice Lovemore Chikopa was appointed by the state president Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera in line with Section 111 (2) of the Constitution of Malawi. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the state house, Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on Thursday 18 April.
Justice Lovemore Chilkopa joined the judiciary in 1998 and become Supreme Court judge at the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal in 2012.
